Don Banks, Cisco

Seen in his corporate mug shot above, Don Banks is a Distinguished Engineer in Research and
Advanced Development at Cisco. He has been working with the current incarnation of virtualization
technologies, xen on Intel hardware in particular, for the past three years building prototype systems to
investigate how to take advantage of multi-core devices in routers, switches, and appliances using both
legacy and new software and specialized hardware. His background is in operating system kernel and
network software, firmware, and platform hardware architecture and implementation on systems
including mainframes, storage arrays, fault tolerant systems, NAS servers, and mac desktops. |
